Note to teachers:
We have written the instructions for our cardboard instrument kits specifically to help teachers use these as classroom projects. You’ll find ample hints and suggestions for working with groups, such as pairing kids together in buddy fashion to help each other, holding parts in safe-keeping until needed, setting up special “stations” for sanding, stringing, and tuning, and ideas for teaching kids to play their finished instruments.
We believe you’ll find these kits to be highly educational for the following reasons:
INTEGRATED SUBJECTS: Teach woodworking, art, math, music, history, culture -- all in one project!
APPEAL TO ALL LEARNING STYLES: kinesthetic (hands-on building), auditory (music), and visual (decorating)
EXCELLENT FOR GROUP MUSIC INSTRUCTION
SENSE OF ACCOMPLISHMENT: Instruments go together quickly and easily, so kids maintain their enthusiasm.
MUSICALITY: These instruments really work. Whatever the kids learn on a 4-string guitar will transfer to a 6-string instrument. It is a great way to start with an easy instrument.
