Hognose Psaltery
There are numerous medieval illustrations of plucked psalteries with this characteristic "pig-snout" shape. They were popular through the Renaissance and Baroque periods, sometimes quite decoratively ornamented with rosettes and painted trim. You'll be impressed with the tone and volume of this instrument--it is not just a toy. Use it for performing, especially in period musical productions. We include a set of songsheets that slide right under the strings to help you learn to play it.
- 15 steel strings, ball end
- 2 octaves, beginning at Middle G below Middle C
- Solid sides, laminated birch back & front
