Used Hammered Dulcimer (15/14)

This is a nice example of our old 15/14 version of our hammered dulcimer. The 15/14 layout offers is a bit more room between the strings which makes it a bit more beginner friendly.

This Hammered Dulcimer features a solid redwood soundboard which provides a warm, rich tone. The frame is made from durable maple laminate.

You also get the assembled stand AND it comes with the dulcimer desk kit. The dulcimer desk, once assembled, can be mounted on the back of the dulcimer and serves as a music stand. The kit is quite simple to assemble and can be done in just a few hours.

The hammered dulcimer is a fascinating instrument to learn to play. It is kind of like a grand piano with the lid open and the sustain pedal on - you hold the "hammers" in your hands to strike the strings. But on the dulcimer the notes are separated about 1 inch apart, and tuned to just the "do-re-mi" scale (not chromatically) so it is easier to find and play the correct notes.

Sound Sample

A mediocre rendition of The Rights of Man played twice - first time with the woodens side of the hammers and the second time with the leather side of the hammers.
