You will receive enough pintite to treat about 60 pins
LIQUID PIN TIGHTENER - Instructions (included with each bottle)
To prepare dispenser:
-
Twist off the small white cap from the squeeze bottle.
-
Twist on the enclosed needle until tightly installed.
To apply liquid:
-
Lay instrument down flat so the tuning pins are vertical.

Slowly squeeze liquid around base of tuning pin until it stops being absorbed.
-
Wipe off any excess liquid.
-
Try tuning the string after 20 minutes or so. Most loose pins should hold tension within an hour.

Does what it says - Tightens tuning pins
Great stuff! I live in the desert and over the years, my harp dried out and the pins loosened. This stuff really helped. No need to unstring or change the loose pins, Just put this stuff around the base of the pin, wipe off the excess and let it work. It did not damage the wood finish in any way. Thanks for a great product.

Good for Donner 16-string lyre harp
Amazon sells the Donner 16-string lyre harp, which is an attractive instrument but which typically suffers from a manufacturing defect. I have so far bought two and a friend bought one, and all three arrived with slipping pins. Pintite is the stuff you want to use on those harps. (Hint: the pins are more than 11 full turns into the harp. Back each pin out at least 6 turns and make sure you get Pintite on all the threads.) Cleans up easily.

bottle almost full
They have certainly taken the reviews into account....I received more than enough pin fix to redo an entire german zither, with penty of pintite left over. Using this in combination with violin bow resin solved the problem at a very low cost.

I experienced the same thing as Bernard several years ago. I figured the stuff was just very expensive. But it works. All my other experience with Musicmakers has been excellent. They are a top notch company and I have continued and will continue doing business with them.

Pintite
Only buy if you need a few drops of Pintite. Bottle is deceiving - it certainly isn't full. Even the picture of the amount in the bottle is deceiving -there is less than half the amount that the picture shows.
Hi Bernard - Sorry that you received such a small amount of pintite. We are going to change our procedure for filling those bottles to make the amount more consistent. I will refund the cost of the pintite. Again, sorry for the our error.
